People know Chiatura for its huge network of cable cars back to the Soviet era. If you're interested in Soviet history or architecture, Chiatura is a good place to go. This Georgia spot is popular with urbexers and photographers because it is a great place to take photos. Cable Car City is in Georgia, and its history of ghosts is well-known. Chiatura comes from manganese, a mineral needed to make iron and steel. Most of Chiatura is made up of Soviet-style apartment towers.

Duration: 1 hour and 25 minutes

After a ride on the Sanatorium Cable Car, we visit the nearby restaurant and order a delicious meal. You have some time before it's ready, so you can keep exploring the area, go to a local market, or buy some natural items from Georgia.

Monks risk their lives to climb to the top of this huge church so they can get closer to God. The Katskhi Column, also called the Katskhi Pillar, is a 40-meter-tall limestone pillar built between the sixth and eighth centuries. On the top of the mountain is an Orthodox monastery.

The Katskhi complex offers a magical and one-of-a-kind way to spend a vacation. The monks who live below use a thin metal ladder attached to the side of the rock to do the nerve-wracking climb, which takes about 20 minutes.

  Duration: 45 minutes

The Bagrati Cathedral in Georgia in the middle Ages is a masterpiece of architecture. Over several hundred years, the cathedral was damaged, and the repair process was finally finished in 2012. After the repairs, it is no longer listed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

  Duration: 50 minutes
