It can be accessed through the Georgian Military Highway and is sandwiched between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari Pass. Gergeti Trinity Church is another name for Holy Trinity Church, which is located near Gergeti village. The church is situated on the right bank of the Chkheri River, 2170 meters above sea level, beneath Kazbegi Mountain. Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century and is Khevi province's only cross-cupola church. In times of danger, precious Mtskheta relics, such as Saint Nino's Cross, were brought here for safekeeping. Despite the fact that religious services were prohibited during the Soviet era, the church remained a popular tourist destination. The church is an active Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church establishment that provides an incredible panoramic view of the entire valley thanks to its remote location in a forested mountainous area.
